The transition into a new school is a critical juncture for students—a time when they move from familiar environments to new environments they are unaccustomed to. The Wythe County Public School Division recognizes the transition to a new school can be a very worrisome time for both parents and students. Whether a student is going to Kindergarten, Middle School, or High School for the first time there are many questions that go through their minds. As a result, our schools are hosting a variety of activities to help students and their parents with their transitions for the upcoming school year.  All schools will host a Step-up-Day on Tuesday, May 26 to help ease any anxiety associated with transitioning to a new school. Students will be able to visit and tour their new schools. Schools will also host a variety of additional activities from June through August to further support students and their parents in the transition. Please contact your child’s school or check school websites for the specific dates and times of orientation activities.
